15th Year Anniversary!

It's 2011 already.........My, how time passes by so quickly. The Rosa Mystica Prayer Group has accomplished so much since its founding, fifteen years ago, in August of 1996.

It all began when an energetic Filipino priest came to Good Shepherd Church in Garland. He awakened parishioners who were reluctant to commit themselves to reach out to others in the community and I'm ashamed to admit, I was one of them. This priest had an important vision and mission. He wanted to continue the consecration of families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the apostolate he has loved so much since he was ordained forty three years ago. He would come to your house not only to bless it, but to pray and consecrate the family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Saint Joseph. Through him, the Statue of Our Lady, the Mystical Rose was brought to Dallas to urge families to pray for unity, to pray also for priests and promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life. His vision was to “multiply Jesus” by helping needy deserving seminarians who have been called to serve our Lord.
Of course we are speaking of Msgr. Ernie Villaroya.

However, to make a vision become a mission, you need the help of others. With permission from his Pastor, the Rev. Fr. Robert Crisp, who was then assigned at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Rosa Mystica Prayer Group was started. As the years went by, both Fr. Bob and Msgr. Ernie were transferred to different parishes, but the Rosa Mystica Group persevered and in 2001 became the charitable organization now known as The Mystical Rose for Seminarian Support. It continues to support those poor deserving seminarians through fervent prayers and different ways of fundraising. The M.R.S.S. is blessed to have the support of the Filipino Pastoral Network as well as our generous benefactors.

We humbly salute with pride, the M.R.S.S. dedicated members and officers who had shared, are sharing and will be sharing their level best in this apostolate. Our Lord’s reward is great. (Matthew 10, 40-42; 25, 36-46.)
