2012

The Mystical Rose for Seminarian Support (M.R.S.S.), is delighted to announce that the 2012 Fall Dinner & Dance Sponsored by the M.R.S.S. was well attended.
Many of our friends, fellow members, and supporters came to not only to enjoy the food and the entertainment for the evening but also knowing that their donation is making a difference by helping to support those poor seminarians through the MRSS.
We are blessed to have such enthusiastic members  who volunteer their time and talents to help make the event a success. We were thrilled to also have in attendance, coordinators for the Rosa Mystica  who came from neighboring cities such as Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Plano, Richardson, Garland, Royce city, Rockwall, Anna, Melissa  and Wylie just to name a few.
The evening’s scheduled entertainment was another splendid performance by the Maharlika Dancers. As the organizers of the Maharlika Dancers, our thanks go to Remus and Merna Parcon for their steadfast support.
Our gratitude goes to the following:
Lino Vidana & the Nueva Esperanza dance group from Juan Diego Catholic Church in Dallas, for their Matachines dance representing the Hispanic Rosa Mystica.
Teresa Kim & Agatha representing the Korean Rosa Mystica group
Claire Untalan for her beautiful rendition of her saxophone
My niece, Tiffany Dimaano, who came late from Houston yet still, gave us a sample of the talent that she used on her journey in becoming the current Miss outstanding America Teen.
And for our guest speaker Fr. Danny Ramos who accepted our invitation as our evening’s guest speaker.
Continuing the MRSS tradition of promoting unity among our varied community, people from diverse cultures came together for a noble cause. We were elated to have performances from a variety of groups and individuals. The audience was mesmerized and spellbound witnessing (perhaps for many them their first exposure) a compilation of folk dancing presented in such a festive array of colors, grace and beauty.
The food was splendid, having a multicultural group, everyone could experience food prepared by our member’s native country from all around the world. From Korea, there were flavorful Korean dishes from bulgogi to kimchi, everyone enjoyed the unique flavors. From Mexico, there were many of their favorite dishes including tamales which disappeared quickly. There was, of course, the good ole American hot dog, chicken alfredo, and Filipino community prepared pancit, lumpia, adobo, afritada and menudo to complete the menu.
We would like to thank Oliver Rhein and the Knights of Columbus for allowing us to use the KC Hall for that evening. Their support and help contributes greatly to the success of our fundraiser.
We extend our heartfelt thanks, to Fr. Danilo Ramos , pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

It is a blessing to be part of this organization.
