Wow! Great News

Flash! This year’s 3rd Annual Sponsorship Dinner, Concert & Dance was another successful event for the Beneficiaries of The Mystical Rose for Seminarian Support.

Besides having dedicated officers and members, the M.R.S.S. was blessed by having our Priests from different parishes from the Dallas Diocese to help raise funds for our poor and deserving seminarians.

Our many thanks go to Bob and Greg Hamilton for helping us set up all the tables and chairs. Remus Parcon is not only graceful on the dance floor but especially when climbing up and down the ladder to hang the curtains for the stage and for his input on the planning for the affair. Nenita Tan not only provided us with a wonderful dessert. But she and Amelia Hamilton were first-rate in following orders from Max Aurellio. They made a great team while decorating for our concert. When it comes to decorations, who do you call? You call Max. Where did he get that talent? The place was beautifully decorated because of Max’s ideas, which were inspired by our blessed Mother, according to him.

I hope everyone that came was able to partake in all the wonderful food which was prepared with love. Hui, Theresa and the Korean coordinators of the M.R.S.S. prepared a delicious taste of Korean food. Keith & Frances Hernandez with Ike and Barbara Thomas again brought delicacies from their homeland, Trinidad, and how about those barbecue briquettes? Amelia can be very proud representing her native land specialty. This exceptional occasion would not be complete without the “Lechon”, a Pilipino tradition, we thank Lino and Del Corpus for donating the roast pig for the occasion, but we would not be able to enjoy it without the help Jesse Miranda who is always ready to pick up the lechon, and how many times has Marlyn Miranda saved us with her quick thinking. We would not have rice for that evening if not for her last minute efforts. As always Pol and Jun Damaso always have their aprons on and ready to serve you as you go through the buffet style dinner. Thanks to Bing Laureano who came and helped me with the tickets. And for Frankie Aguilar’s group who stayed late to help us in cleaning up the place after everyone left thank you so very much.

Didn’t you just love our emcee, Gil Lasaca, very professional, huh? Thank you again, Gil, for accepting that responsibility and on such short notice. How about our entertainers? I thought Elvis had been reincarnated. Dr. Rivero sang so delightful that I forgot that he’s a doctor; it was nice to have a doctor in the house, ha! Ms. McCoy sang like an angel such a beautiful voice. But how about our special treat that evening, when Fr. Ely, Fr. Remy and Msgr. Ernie sang, ohhhh what a wonderful creation from above, those voices were just breathtaking. Did anybody else feel like you were in heaven being serenaded by angels, when all our priests sang together?

As the current president of MRSS, I’m blessed to be part of this organization whose members work very hard and sacrifice every year to share their time, talent and other blessings to raise funds for our seminarians. I have no adequate words to express my gratitude.

To our benefactors who generously respond to our plea, we thank you and God bless you. We are very grateful for your continued Support, not only through your prayers but also with your generous donations.
